Engaged!! Now What?

"He got down on one knee and I started to cry, it was at that moment in time, I realized that the man of my dreams was about to ask me to spend the rest of my life with him. With tears in my eyes, and hardly breathing, I managed to let out a YES!!"-

Sound familiar? Your story may not be the same but you've got a ring on your finger and now you are ready to start planning, what is supposed to be, the most magical day of your life. Here are some easy steps to put you at ease and make you a smart bride.

Planning a wedding, of any size, can be very intimidating and seem like a daunting task. So let's get organized!!

1. First thing to do, is to get your fiancee involved: with the two of you working together it will alleviate the stress of having to explain yourself, over and over again, when trying to make decisions. If you are both seeing something together, for the first time,  you are able to see what the first, honest, reaction is and be able to make faster and clearer decisions. If your groom is laid back, and doesn't want to be involved, do not be pushy, take this for what it is: Freedom to do whatever you want!!! In this case involve your bridesmaids and parents, and let the groom retract to his normal habitat.

2. Shopping: No not for a wedding dress, but for some wedding planning essentials. A binder or a notebook of some sort will be essential to staying organized. There are many pre-made wedding planning guides/binders that can be purchased at any local store.

3. Basic wedding details are next. This is must-know-information before you head out to visit places and gather information for your ceremony and reception.
1.How many guest will be attending?
       2. Will it be a church ceremony or are you looking for other options?
       3. When would you like to get married?Month? Year?
       4. Most importantly know your budget and who will be paying for the wedding.

4. Do not be quick to find a wedding planner! Often times, they are very expensive and some banquet facilities include Wedding Consultants and Day-of-Event Coordinators, in which case you wouldn't need any outside help, saving you a  decent amount of money and headaches. Plan the wedding that you want, not that someone else wants.

5. Now, get out there and look around!! Make appointments with all the banquet facilities you have access to, as soon as possible. With popular facilities, you may have to book, a year or two, in advance. Compare, Compare, and then Compare some more!!! Make sure you have all the information you need, to be able to compare places and prices, to make the right decision, for you and your fiancee.
